Hawthorn has invited me to join her in posting a heart a day until
Valentine’s Day on the 14 February. As
the weather is so lousy at the moment I have set myself a challenge of finding
all the hearts in and around our home.
Some of you who have been following Hawthorn for a while may recognise
some of my hearts as she has used a few of mine over the years. As I have been looking round our home I was
surprised how many I could find especially as I am not one for collecting
hearts.
My first heart is taken from a couple of little stickers that
were on a Christmas card envelope a few years ago sent by a friend in Capetown
who is sadly no longer with us. I stuck
the two little stickers on the corner of a school picture of our two
grandchildren taken years ago. I always
remember our friend when I am dusting the shelves of our bookcase.
I too had to resort to seeing what hearts I could find at home and it was so easy and I do not collect hearts either. A lovely story too. It is nice how something can trigger a good memory.
ReplyDeleteYes, amazing how hearts creep into our lives. xx
DeleteI know those stickers! But I didn't know the story behind them :)
ReplyDeleteBoys have grown since that picture was taken. Yes, the stickers have been there for many years now. xx
DeleteVery cute & a lovely memento from a friend. I've just realised I'm not the only who had to resort to finding them all at home too. Like you I never thought of myself as being a heart sort of person, but I've found enough to do the fourteen & am quite pleased. Look forward to seeing all the different takes on this theme. Take care.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned to Thread's Through my life above, it is surprising how many hearts creep into our homes. I was amazed when I started looking, in fact I have too many. xx
