4rd February 2017 - Heartathon

Looking round the house for more hearts I realised how many heart shaped flowers and leaves there are in here.   I was given this gorgeous Strelitzia a few years ago for a birthday present from my son and daughter-in-law.  It is obviously very happy where it is growing as it has outgrown two pots.  This time I am keeping it in its present one hoping to contain it.  It never has less than 13 or 14 flowers at a time and as you can see – a perfect red heart!  (or 14 if I count them all!!)

  1. WOW! Love that, & you are really keeping your eyes peeled for potential hearts. I do know that sometimes leaves are heart shaped, but went looking & couldn't find any this garden. Have a good weekend & take care.

    1. Yes, I could not do the Heartathon without including my beautiful Strelitzia hearts. It has survived the dry central heating well. Not many leaves to cut of. It stands next to a radiator and occasionally the leaves touch it and go brown.

  2. Great leaves and flowers. Now why didn't I think of heart-shaped leaves.... Also been meaning to say that I am enjoying your clipart that starts each day's hearty post.

    1. Yes I had fun selecting clipart hearts, there were so many to choose from. I have a problem that the edges show on here. When I snip them they are saving with shadows around the edges. I have tried to change the settings but with no luck. x
